Canine Good Citizen (Thursday)
The Canine Good Citizen (CGC) test is the American Kennel Club's 10-point test of good manners for dogs. Mary Burch, director of the program, says, "The dog who passes this test has an advanced degree in good manners.” This class will prepare students and their dogs for each part of the test:
1-Greeting a friendly stranger
2-Sitting politely for petting
3-Appearance and grooming
4-Walking on a loose leash
5-Walking through a crowd
6-Sit and down on command
7-Coming when called
8-Reaction to another dog
9-Reaction to distractions
10-Supervised separation
Dogs of any age may participate in this class. Class is not appropriate for dogs who are reactive toward other dogs or humans. Class will meet for one hour a week for six weeks. This class will be held outdoors.

Special Requirements: Proof of veterinarian checkup and distemper vaccine.
Health Policy: All dogs must be up to date on rabies vaccinations and other vaccinations or titered. After registering for this class, please email a copy of your dog's vaccination records to us at [email protected].
Our Policy: Classes cannot be exchanged for other classes or private instruction and no refunds are given after class begins. Only people-friendly and dog-friendly dogs are accepted for group classes. Clients with dogs that are reactive to adults, children, or other dogs should opt for private training and should also consider a session to provide management and behavior modification programs.
